Acceptable Use Policy

1. Purpose
Ask Essie is designed for legitimate businesses to handle inbound customer calls. This policy defines what constitutes acceptable and unacceptable use of the Service.
2. Acceptable Use
You may use Ask Essie to:
- Answer inbound calls from customers, leads, and prospects
- Book appointments on behalf of your business
- Take messages and route callbacks
- Send SMS confirmations related to booked appointments
- Capture lead information from callers
3. Prohibited Use
You may NOT use Ask Essie to:
- Spam or robocalling: Use the Service for outbound calling, mass messaging, or any unsolicited communication
- Fraud or deception: Misrepresent your business, impersonate other companies, or use the Service to deceive callers
- Illegal activity: Facilitate any activity that violates federal, state, or local law
- Harassment: Use call data to harass, stalk, or intimidate any person
- Data harvesting: Use the Service primarily to collect phone numbers or personal information for resale
- Adult content: Use the Service for businesses dealing in adult content, escort services, or similar
- Regulated industries without compliance: Use for healthcare, legal, or financial services without appropriate compliance measures on your end
- Abuse of AI: Attempt to manipulate, jailbreak, or misuse the AI agent to produce harmful, misleading, or offensive content
- System abuse: Deliberately overwhelm the system with excessive calls, attempt to exploit vulnerabilities, or interfere with other users' service
4. Call Volume
Your $99/mo subscription includes unlimited reasonable business call volume. "Reasonable" means inbound calls from real customers in the normal course of business. If we detect patterns consistent with abuse (automated calls, load testing, or call flooding), we may throttle or suspend your account.
5. SMS Usage
SMS messages sent through Ask Essie (appointment confirmations, owner notifications) must comply with TCPA and carrier guidelines. You are responsible for ensuring your callers have a reasonable expectation of receiving SMS from your business.
6. Enforcement
Violations of this policy may result in:
- Warning and request to change behavior
- Temporary suspension of service
- Permanent termination without refund
- Reporting to law enforcement if required
